Winter Holiday Notice 2021-2022

The holiday season is coming, and as always, particular attention should be paid to all matters having deadlines falling at the end of December and the beginning of January.

Please note the holidays below.

* The JPO will be closed from Wednesday, December 29, 2021 to Monday, January 3, 2022.

* Our office will be closed from Thursday, December 30, 2021 to Monday, January 3, 2022.

* Monday, January 10, 2022, is a national holiday in Japan. Both our office and the JPO will be closed.

Official deadlines at the Japanese Patent Office which fall on the above-mentioned holidays will automatically be extended to the next working day.

Since some of our foreign clients will have holidays during the week of December 20, we may not be able to communicate with such clients for the entire two weeks.

Accordingly, please provide us with your instructions by December 20, 2021 (Japan Time), for cases which are due between Friday, December 24, 2021, and Monday, January 3, 2022. If we cannot receive your instructions by December 20, 2021 (Japan Time), please understand that we may have to request an extension of time, if available.
