Comments from Speaker

This webinar examines how to address and pre-empt patent clarity objections under Japanese practice, with particular focus on chemical inventions. We begin with the conceptual framework underpinning clarity requirements in the JPO Examination Guidelines, including the five embodiments illustrated in the Examination Guidelines. The session then analyzes selected prosecution examples and relevant court decisions to illustrate how clarity is assessed in prosecution. Practical drafting and amendment strategies will be discussed, enabling participants to better anticipate examiner concerns and manage risk in both the filing and prosecution phases.
