In Japanese chemical and biological patent applications, examples are essential for asserting inventive step and for satisfying enablement and support requirements. Even if multiple examples are included in the originally-filed application, you might want to submit post-filing experimental data after receiving a Notice of Reasons for Rejection. In this situation, there are cases where we highly recommend it and cases where we do not recommend it so much. In this webinar, we will briefly explain both of the cases, that is, cases wherein post-filing data are effective and cases wherein they are not so effective in response to different types of reasons for rejection in Japan.
