In network-related inventions, part of network entities, such as servers, are often located abroad. The question arises as to whether infringement occurs when a part of the invention is implemented abroad. Lately, the Japanese Supreme Court made two important decisions regarding this issue. In this seminar, I will introduce an overview of the two decisions, and a movement of law reform in response to the decisions.
