The Japan Patent Office (JPO) has implemented a new policy regarding divisional applications as of April 1, 2023. The new policy relates to suspension of examination for divisional applications where the parent application is pending in an Appeal, which is very user friendly and effective for applicants.
This webinar provides an overview of divisional applications in Japan, and summarizes points of particular interest regarding the new policy.
