Japanese design applications may contain only one design. If an application has more than one design, the application will be rejected.
A design in which claimed parts are separate can be considered to lack unity and can be rejected due to having multiple designs per application. This webinar explains how to overcome the rejection and register a design with separated claimed parts.
This webinar is a continuation of our previous webinar “Basic Issues about the Unity Requirement for Design Applications in Japan”. The content of this webinar can be understood without knowledge of the previous webinar. However, we recommend watching the recorded video of the previous webinar for better understanding. The video link for the previous webinar is included in the registration e-mail, which you will receive soon after your registration from the following form.

Note

  • The webinar is expected to consist of a 20 to 30-minute presentation and a 5 to 10-minute Q&A session.
  • If you miss watching the live session, you will receive an on-demand recorded video link a day after the live session is over. Please still register with the registration form below.
  • This webinar is aimed at providing IP information to our business partners and clients from overseas. Registration from persons who work for IP firms or law firms in Japan will not be approved as this may be deemed as a conflict of interest with our business.
