The Japan Patent Office (JPO) takes steps toward implementing multi-multi-claim restrictions. The JPO has announced a draft of revisions to “Regulations under the Patent Act” necessary to implement “multi-multi-claim restrictions”. The scheduled enforcement date is April 1, 2022. The revisions will have a significant impact on all applicants who file Japanese patent applications or applications for utility model registration. This webinar introduces the implementation of multi-multi-claim restrictions in Japan and points that should be noted by applicants, especially foreign applicants.
