In Japan, the disclaimer is often used to overcome a lack of inventive step in every technical field, including mechanical or electrical cases.
Indeed, it is possible in Japan to disclaim prior art much more freely than other countries.
In this webinar, I will explain how to use the disclaimer in Japanese prosecution, why the disclaimer allows us to argue inventive step, and how freely you can use the disclaimer, with a number of examples.
